Frequently Asked Questions
What areas do you serve?
We connect homeowners and businesses across Knoxville and all of East Tennessee -- Knox, Blount, Loudon, Anderson, and Sevier counties, including Farragut, Maryville, Oak Ridge, Powell, Alcoa, Lenoir City, Sevierville, and Gatlinburg -- with local tree pros. See our Service Areas page for the full list.
Can you help with emergency tree removal?
Yes. We connect you with crews that handle storm emergencies -- trees on homes, downed trees, and dangerous hanging limbs. Call (865) 500-6459 and leave a message any time, and we'll get you connected. If a tree is touching power lines, call KUB at 865-524-2911 first.
How much does tree removal cost?
Most Knoxville tree removals run $400 to $2,000 depending on size, access, and complexity, with the majority landing in the $600 to $1,200 range. We give you an exact written quote before any work begins.
Are your crews licensed and insured?
The crews we connect you with are fully insured, carrying general liability and workers' compensation coverage, and follow ANSI A300 standards for pruning and structural work. Certificates of insurance are available on request.
Do you provide free estimates?
Yes. Free, written, no-obligation estimates are available for tree removal, trimming, and stump grinding. Emergency storm calls are priced on-site.
Do you remove the stump too?
Stump grinding can be bundled into the same visit. Most stumps are ground 4 to 12 inches below grade for $100 to $400, with discounts for several at once.
What happens to the branches and debris?
Your choice: the crew hauls all debris off your property, or chips it on-site and leaves the mulch for you. Cleanup is included in most quotes.
Can you save my tree instead of removing it?
Often, yes. Structural cabling and bracing can preserve mature trees with weak unions or splitting limbs for a fraction of removal cost. We'll give you an honest assessment of whether the tree is worth saving.
When is the best time to trim my trees?
Late winter is ideal for most East Tennessee hardwoods, while they're dormant. Oaks are the exception -- prune them November through March to avoid the April-July oak wilt window.
Do you work with my insurance after a storm?
Yes. The crew we connect you with documents the damage for your claim, provides written estimates that meet insurance documentation standards, and coordinates with your adjuster to make the process smoother.
Do I need a permit to remove a tree in Knoxville?
Usually not. Most homeowners in Knoxville and Knox County don't need a permit for a tree in their own yard. The exceptions: street and right-of-way trees, large clearing jobs, trees on stream banks, and properties in Farragut or historic districts.
